Why not? Doesn't matter where you found someone, what matters is you found the right one. Although, this trend is catching up now. People find thier love on social networking sites, like facebook, myspace, digg these days. It has become very easy to track down anything about anyone. Internet has evolved so much from the time we used to be young and in the dating scene ....

I think social networking sites like facebook or myspace are popular in youngsters for finding friends but not for a date. Dating is a serious type of event so the dedicated dating sites would serve better in this case.

I think so too. MySpace and Facebook are not for serious daters. My cousin is in the dating market. She tried to meet people on Facebook and MySpace at first. But believe me, people over there are too young and not too serious about long term relationship. They are just looking for friends or physcial relationship   . You know what I mean?
Dating sites like this promatching.com or pof.com should be used for serious dating, in my opinion. You may have more options to set your match preferences and find appropriate partner.
