Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50.
I am one of those who grew up listening & dancing to Mike's amazing music. For me pop music was Michael Jackson and Michael Jackson was pop music. I still remember the days when me and my brother used to just go crazy about the 'Beat It' rhythm or the spectacular dance routine from 'The way you make me feel'. We played it so many times that the cassette started creaking & jumping after a few months. 'Man in the mirror' song was just amazing. I must have played it at least 20 times to finally be able to write down lyrics by hand and then practice it by heart within a few hours.
This guy was something special. Hasn't he sold the all time best number of music videos? Only if he didn't get into the trouble with law & gotten over that obsession of looking 'white' in the 90's.

Thanks for writing about the king of pop - Michael Jackson. It's been a full week now that he passed away, but people are still talking about him. NBC did a full show on his Neverland Ranch this morning. Matt Lauer took the tour of his mansion and his fantasy land, Neverland. People are still grieving for this loss.
By the way, did you hear about his will? He nominated his mother for the custody of his kids. And if she is unable to care for them, guess who was the next nominee? DIANA ROSS Apparently, even she wasn't aware of this nomination. They were good friends in 1990's but were not in contact lately. But this will is said to be written in 1992.
Oh well, he will missed a LOT!
