Shopping tips for wedding dress?

Hiya girls, (and guys)!
Good news is I am getting married in 5 months.  Oh God, I am so excited, and getting cold feet. I have been procrastinating "the planning part" for many weeks now.
BUT, first things first, I need to shop for my wedding dress  . I have thought of a style that would look good on me, but would like some other opinions. Also, best places to shop for bridal dress - is it okay to shop online for wedding dresses or should I go to local wedding / bridal stores? I can also use more precautions and tips for shopping for bridal dress from experienced members. 
And the fun starts

Awww .... many congrats dear, for pending nuptials. Here's one from me Be assured you have many fun times ahead.
Now about bridal dress. Yes, one has to be very careful while getting one. I would not recommend buying online. Since, it has to fit you perfectly, you can't really wear it to see how you look. Then, if you need to get it altered, you will have to find seamstress nearby, besides ordering the dress separately. That could add to your expenses. I would suggest to shop around in your local wedding shops. You will find something to your liking for sure.

Hey many many congrats. You will have great time preparing for your wedding. Weddings dress search can be stressing, so do not worry too much about great details, just shop around. As mika already said, I too do NOT believe in shopping online for a wedding dress. You should go to the local wedding store, and go to the one that sells only weddings gowns. That means they know their products, and will know your choice instantly.
